Football, Fast and Easy

Executive Summary

At the beginning of the semester I was practicing a few of the techniques we had learned about using web queries to pull tables off of the internet. One of my best friends is on the BYU football team, so we spend a lot of time talking about the team, and the current BCS rankings. As the semester evolved, so did my ideas for the excel sheet, and thus my project was born.

When the user first logs in to the excel file it goes online and downloads the current BCS information to the front page of the work book. There is a button next to the BCS statistics that is titled Compare teams. When the user clicks on this they are taken to a user form that loads all of the FBS/I-A Conferences and teams. The user can select as many teams as they want, then they can choose which statistics they want to compare. When the user hits Load Data, the program goes online and pulls all of the statistics requested for the team and groups them together.
