VBA Project- Customer/Supplier Database

Executive Summary

My father has kept all his customer and supplier information on paper ever since he started his own business 20 years ago. My mother, my father’s book keeper, over time has had difficulties organizing and keeping all the information. As a result, she occasionally loses former and current customers and supplier’s data.

Recently, both my parents have started taking computer classes. Excel is a perfect program to add a lot of data but it may be challenging for my parents. That is why I created a very user friendly database tailored to their needs and abilities. What this project does is it uses forms to help them find, edit, sort, and add customers and suppliers. When excel opens, a form pop ups and all they have to do is follow the instructions. Each form is very easy simple and easy to read. They will never need to access the actual excel spreadsheets since they can save, backup, and close the excel worksheets, print each or all information, send emails, and load supplier’s website with the forms. The worksheets are password protected so that the users can not accidentally erase data. The greatest advantage of creating forms instead of using default programs that already collect this type of data is that it is customized for just my father’s business. It is simple to use and it collects all of the information my father could ever need.
