Pricing Monitor

Executive Summary:

This tool automates the verification of pricing for each of Company X’s (name changed) 300,000 clients. Company X is a large publicly traded technology firm with a local office. In the past, about once a year an audit team would postpone their normal work to look for pricing discrepancies among the rates they were billing clients. Each time they did this they found multiple errors that had been losing the company money. This tool automates part of the pricing audit process by checking the client pricing rates against eight user determined price tolerances. It then emails questionable client ID numbers to the audit department for further examination and sends a texts the Internal Audit Senior Manager with the number of problem accounts. Rather than being checked once a year, if needs be, prices can now easily be checked multiple times a day. Pricing errors won’t go unnoticed for extended periods of time and the company won’t under bill clients.
