Client Billing Manager

Executive Summary

The business this project applies to is any business that bills time to different clients. A professional services firm is a good example of a company with many employees working on a number of different client engagements at any given time. The current billing system requires the user to enter client billing data accurate to the tenth of an hour but there is no real-time tracking. Thus the user is required to track his/her time manually and at the end of the day, access the billing system and enter everything at once. The issue is that many times, you work on many different engagements and many different clients over the course of the day making it nearly impossible to be truly accurate with your billing information. My purpose is to use this application to interface directly with the company billing system so this application will store the billing information for the day and at the end of the day, I click a button and everything I have done is dumped into the billing system. This system does however require user interaction to log each activity’s start and end time. It isn’t truly ‘real-time’ but it’s as close as I could get given my abilities. This project would have been much more in depth, if I currently had access to the firm’s billing system. In the future, I will interface this system with the billing system and this will become a complete solution.
